XONKOLPO - Higher Ed Initiative for NE India Current Scenario • There is an acute information void in college campuses as students have to spend inordinate amount of time finding reliable information and settling on a clear plan to reach their goals. • Students are not aware of careers in specialized fields, of various internship and scholarship opportunities and what kind of applications get accepted. • Getting the right information late means a lot of students can’t get a headstart in the competitive world. www.xonkolpo.org | Assam, India 2/12

Build a support system for students of NE India willing get Mas- ters and PhD degrees in any Science, Technology, Engineering and Management (STEM) field. 2. Provide information on career opportunities globally, active mentoring and material support. 3. 4. XONKOLPO - Higher Ed Initiative for NE India Financial Status We operate on a non-profit basis and will be a registered society in the near future. Our general services are free for everyone but some application- related services are provided for a very nominal fee as we want to develop long-term relationships with students who are invested in their career. Whatever is collected is spent on organizing seminars in various college campuses for the general student population. Right now, we are supported by personal donations of the mentors. 5. XONKOLPO - Higher Ed Initiative for NE India Immediate Plans Currently, our services are limited to students of Assam who are studying within the home state or anywhere in the country. 6. XONKOLPO - Higher Ed Initiative for NE India Team Xonkolpo We are a group of enthusiastic young people working in various places of India and abroad who are motivated to make a difference. The initial group of volunteers are largely from NIT Silchar where we also run a successful 3-year old club called the GradSchool Club with similar goals. As we grow, we hope to attract more mentors to expand the program.
