    and pre 2009 titles • Report pulled off total number of check outs for item since 2000 • Identified titles that could be bought in DVD – mainly films • Topical titles – Panorama, Horizon – not available on DVD • 5000 VHS videos altogether – only 21 on loan • 2000 identified as no longer useful • Loan usage and items put out for shelving very low • Layer of dust on them

    low • Growth in distance and online students • Cost issues – of DVDs • Leeds Met media player – on campus only • Off-air recordings – topical but limited currency • Academic staff negativity over video stock editing project
  13. Background • Meeting with Alexander Street Press in May 2013

    • Discussed the possibility of developing an acquisition model similar to the PDA models we’d been using with eBooks • Success of eBook PDAs was one of the catalysts for developing EBA models in other resources like videos • Had investment money for the minimum payment required
