  1. The  audience  for  my  media  product  would  most  likely  be

females  aged  between  16-‐28.  This  is  due   to  the  fact  that  I  used  female  models  and  only  one  male  model.  However  males  are  not  excluded   and  are  sBll  available  to  read  my  magazine.       From  the  website  dancingastronaunt.com  I  have  found  that  majority  of  the  populaBon  who  listens   to  electronic  dance  music  (EDM)  are  males.  55%  are  men,  while  45%  are  women,  which  show  how   males   dominate   the   electronic   dance   music.   Furthermore,   from   the   website   mobbo.com   I   have   found  that  72.7%  of  males  read  the  electronic  dance  music  Mixmag  Magazine,  whereas  27.3%  of   females  read  the  magazine,  which  suggested  how  the  magazine  is  possibly  aimed  at  males.  This  is   further  evident  in  the  way  males  are  more  than  oQen  seen  on  the  front  covers  of  electronic  dance   music.       I  decided  to  use  a  female  model  for  both  my  front  cover  and  double  page  spread  to  emphasis  that   females   do   listen   to   electronic   dance   music,   to   encourage   the   female   audience   to   view   my   magazine,  as  well  as  to  conBnue  to  listen  to  the  genre.       This  shows  how  my  audience  would  more  than  likely  be  females  than  males,  as  the  magazine  is   seen  as  more  female-‐orientated.
  2. For  both  males  and  females,  the  listening  populaBon  is  aged

16  to  28,  meaning   my  audience  would  most  likely  be  young  adults,  early  teens  at  the  age  of  16  to   young   adults,   aged   around   28.   The   website   dancingastronaunt.com   provides   me   further   informaBon   with   the   ages.   I   found   that   high   school   and   college   students   listen   to   electronic   dance   music   at   18%   and   28%,   whereas   young   adults  in  university  are  only  5%.       This  suggested  that  only  youths  associated  themselves  with  this  music  genre,   which  means  my  magazine  is  solemnly  aimed  for  teens  and  young  adults,  rather   than  the  older  generaBon,  such  as  ages  between  20-‐50  years  old.       I  have  used  teenage,  young  adult  models  in  my  front  cover,  contents  page  and   double   page   spread   shows   how   how   this   magazine   is   aimed   for   teens   and   adults.
  3. Using  the  dancingastronaunt.com  website,  I  have  found  that  63%  who

are  white  listen   to  electronic  dance  music,  which  means  my  magazine  should  be  directed  to  people   who  are  of  white  ethnicity.  The  rest  take  up  13%  who  are  black,  7%  and  only  7%  Asian.       As  I  have  used  models  that  are  not  in  fact  white,  I  have  tried  to  encourage  cultural   diversity.  The  models  I  have  used  are  either  Asian  or  MauriBan,  which  suggests  a  more   cultural  magazine,  allowing  everyone  to  relate  to  my  magazine.  In  electronic  dance   magazines,  the  model  is  usually  someone  of  a  white  ethnic,  by  subverBng  this;  I  have   tried  to  encourage  the  audience  of  other  races  to  view  my  magazine.  I  wanted  my   magazine   to   be   different   from   typical   electronic   dance   magazines;   I   wanted   to   encourage  cultural  diversity  and  empowerment  of  women  in  this  genre.       Before  making  my  products,  I  conducted  a  survey.  From  my  survey  I  had  found  out   that  the  majority  of  votes  wanted  a  female  model  on  the  front  cover,  perhaps  due  to   the  fact  that  females  were  the  majority  who  answered  my  survey.       However  this  does  say  that  people  would  more  likely  be  interested  in  a  female  model   on   the   front   cover,   rather   than   males,   which   further   suggest   that   my   magazine   is   aimed  for  females,  than  males.
  4. James   is   twenty-‐two   years   old

and   enjoys   listening   to   electronic   dance  music.  He  is  a  university  student  so  he  rarely  goes  to  fesBvals   ever  year,  as  Bckets  may  be  not  within  his  price  range,  however  when   he  does  have  the  money  and  the  Bme,  he  aYends  major  fesBvals  held   in  the  UK  such  as  Electric  Daisy  Carnival  and  Creamfields  to  see  his   favourite  arBsts  live.  When  he  doesn’t  have  enough  money  to  go  to   these  fesBvals,  he  goes  to  his  local  club  to  dance  and  to  listen  to  new   DJs.  Besides  electronic  dance  music,  James’  listens  to  rock  music.  He   reads  NME  magazine  as  this  magazine  contains  arBsts  from  indie  and   rock,   however   he   would   like   to   read   an   electronic   dance   magazine   which  features  fesBval  and  gig  headlines,  as  well  as  arBcles  about  his   favourite  arBsts.         Consumer  profile     The  typical  consumer  of  this  type  of  magazine  would  be  both  males  and  females  aged  between   16-‐24.
  5. Amelia   is   seventeen-‐year-‐old   college   student

and   likes   to   listen  to  a  variety  of  music  such  as  indie,  folk  and  electronic   dance   music.   She   earns   money   from   her   parents   by   doing   daily  chores  and  with  this  money  she  goes  to  concerts  which   are  more  closer  to  home,  as  she  cannot  afford  to  travel  to   another   country   for   an   electronic   dance   fesBval.   For   example,   she   goes   to   concerts,   which   include   electronic   dance   arBsts   such   as   David   GueYa,   Tiesto   and   Avicii   in   Belfast.   She   plans   to   aYend   more   concerts   with   arBst   in   other   genres   later   in   the   year.   Amelia   is   interested   in   fashion,   music,   beauty   and   science,   so   she   buys   magazine   corresponding  to  these  areas.  She  would  like  a  magazine  for   electronic   dance   music,   which   shows   gossip   about   EDM   arBsts  and  also  shows  reviews  for  new  music,  as  she  enjoys   listening  to  new  arBsts  and  buying  their  albums.
