  2. What we have done on Child Protection? •  Re-echo the

    CP Training on SPACFI staff and partner communities including IP communities •  presented materials or tools that can be used in monitoring and reporting in case there is suspected incidents pertaining to child abuse or violence on Children. •  Linkaging with government agencies and other stakeholders of children welfare •  Drafted new project proposal which has a specific change area on child protection
  3. Our initiatives in protecting children •  Assisted child sexual abuse

    case through coordination with BLGU, PNP and DSWD •  School hopping for the promotion IP children in mainstream education [ 55 IP students] [3 mainstream schools( public and private)]. •  Conducted orientations on CP in IP communities and other partner communities. •  Involved children on decision making or planning processes of development. •  280 IP children assisted on basic services [Health, education, access to water and shelter] •  advocacy activities promoting the rights of children •  Successfully implemented ICDP (Integrated Community Development Project) which basically addressed most of child related concerns such as feeding program, provision of livelihood supports, house repair, sanitary toilets, educational supplies
  4. Our target partners •  SPACFI is now working with children

    in remote areas comprising in the province of Camarines Norte. Basically, the main targets of child protection initiatives of the organization are IP children, children from poor families/ sectors that we are work with and other children that need our services. •  The SPACFI is also working together with DSWD, NCIP, Academe, PNP and other support group in promoting child protection in the province.
  5. Highlight lessons learned/success from our experiences. •  Importance of data-

    The child protection in the province is quite challenging to promote because even the partner government agencies has lack of updated data in the province. [IP] •  Significant role of pair share initiatives of government and CSO in promoting & protecting child rights. •  Hesitation of families or victim to file a case against the perpetrator
  6. difficult situation we faced •  Limitation on handling or assisting

    the victim [gender] •  Lack direct protocol on policy considering our safety in assisting child abused victim that make as vulnerable in certain situation. •  Lack of updated data of partner government agencies [GA] on children.
  7. Challenges of organization and what we gone through in implementing

    CP •  Status of CP Policy- At the present, SPACFI is planning to review or amend the policy as it was discussed in the institutional strategic planning. •  Been part of the Provincial Anti-Child Labor Committee being supported by Department of Labor and Employment •  Entered into a partnership with CODE-NGO and CBD (Coalition for Bicol Development) on being volunteers on Monitoring BUB (Bottoms-Up Budgeting) Projects of Government which has focus on children’s welfare
