  1. Old School - Paper • Low tech – but reliable

and well understood • Can’t auto email agreement PDF to customer • Ability to validate & check is weak • User authentication is not strong (can’t really prove the user was involved) • Data authentication – paper can be altered very easily with a pen • No control over adding “data” that shouldn’t be on paper like credit card numbers – which is a PCI issue for storage • Time consuming to store – Scan + upload – Scan + Email to agreement unique email address – Can be missed or forgotten leaving agreement record missing key info
  2. Electronic Signatures • Well accepted practice • ESIGN Act (2000)

    – “electronic sound, symbol, or process attached to, or associated with, a contract or other record and adopted by a person with the intent to sign a record” • The signature itself is just a “mark” – what is key is the intent is defensible and the final doc can be defended as not being adjusted later
  3. Electronic Signatures • User Authentication – Was the person there?

Was their intent to sign clear and did they know what they were signing? • Data Authentication – Was the document altered after the fact? – Electronic is strong in this regard – any adjustments to a PDF document are evident in the document internal history
  4. 1x5 Signature Pad • Cheap – non backlit = $90.

Backlit more expensive $250 – but still incurs a cost to purchase • Uses a pen – so a familiar experience • Possible disconnect between signature & what is being signed • Can only use on Internet Explorer & requires installs (IE9 is still a junk non-compliant browser.. maybe IE10 will be better) • User authentication same as paper
  5. 4x5 Signature Pad • Expensive - $450 • Uses a

pen – so a familiar experience • CR will display a summary statement of what is being signed on the pad “I agree to…” – less disconnect • Can include logo’s etc • Can only use on Internet Explorer & requires installs (IE9 is still a junk non-compliant browser.. maybe IE10 will be better) • User authentication same as paper
  6. On-Screen Signature • No additional equipment • Works in every

browser • Inside document on screen so strong connect to document • A bit “clunky” using mouse – makes sigs that don’t look as “normal” because people don’t normally sign with a mouse – look of “mark” is not important to ESIGN act • Use on mobile devices – sign with finger – works much more naturally • iPad great for pre-sales or “on the floor” • User authentication same as paper • Can be tied to SMS user authentication
  7. SMS + Keyboard Typed • No additional equipment • Works

in every browser • Inside document on screen so strong connect to document • Very strong & defensible user authentication – strong audit trail • Typing is ultra-simple & fast experience for customer • Can be set to fall back to on-screen if client does not have phone with them that can receive SMS messages • Validation of cell number – Not a staff member – not used before with a different customer
  8. SMS + Keyboard Typed • Customer is sent via SMS

to their phone a unique 4 digit PIN code with short details of what is being agreed to • This PIN code must be entered into ClubReady to continue • Proves customer was present and aware
  9. A Connection To What Is Signed Signatures in the data

populated document just like a real document Every signature has clarification statement of what is being agreed to Points of signature highlighted with “sign here” stickers
  10. Agreement Review Queue Fast review from 1 interface Update commissionable
