WebShop 2011 Catalogue, by Jordi Torres

WebShop 2011 Catalogue, by Jordi Torres

The presentation, in digital format and meticulously handcrafted, was made available as a download to clients via the web application of the Catalan interior and product designer Jordi Torres Soca.

This presentation, in the form of a catalogue, updated the most important pieces of his extensive work, and his dream of living like Rodin in a house where everyone would walk around naked, and making paintings and sculptures as he went along.

The lines of his furniture might remind one of a completely melted rectangular shelf, melted and white, which takes on curved shapes reminiscent of Dalí. Indeed, Jordi Torres' admiration for Salvador Dalí, who fascinated Angélus (Jean-François Millet, 1859), whom he described as an incestuous and tragic devastation, led him to pay tribute to and name the painting after the French realist painter and author, as well as the fluid forms of the Ampordanese.

Jordi Torres Soca was born in Barcelona in 1961. He completed his training under the tutelage of his father, Jordi Torres Pérez, the renowned founder of Ferran i Jordi shop on Balmes Street in Barcelona, as well as an accomplished decorator and furniture designer.
