    relates to my next course. • Many people are interested in this topic. • However, most people do not know about it. • One of the reasons is that it is extremely difficult and complicated to know.
  3. What’s “OS” • The operating system is "a powerful, and

    usually large, program that controls and manages the hardware and other software on a computer"
  4. What’s Android • Based on Linux OS. • Development by

    Android Open Source Project. • “Open Source Software”. • Programming language is “Java”. • The owner of Java is Oracle. • Some companies (E.g. Samsung, Huawei) produce Android phone as their own brand phone (Galaxy, Mate). • Latest Version is Android 9.

    Apple • “Closed Software” • Programming language is “Swift” • The owner of Swift is Apple. • Apple produces iOS phone a.k.a “iPhone”. • Latest Version is iOS 12.

  8. Security • Avast (2018) Announced that: • “The Avast Threat

    Labs has found adware pre-installed on several hundred different Android device models and versions, including devices from manufacturers like ZTE and Archos” (Para. 1). • Check Point (2017) Announced that: • “The malicious apps were not part of the official ROM supplied by the vendor, and were added somewhere along the supply chain” (Para. 2). • Costello (2018) argued: • “Even if Android had the best security in the world, it would be virtually impossible for Google and its hardware partners to close every security hole, fight every virus, and stop every digital scam while still giving customers a device that's useful” (Para. 6). • iPhone has longer support than Android’s. • iPhone 5s was supported by iOS 12, this phone was released in 2013 (Morris, 2018). • Google Official latest phone, Pixel 2 has three years support (Welch, 2017).
  9. Finding information by my questionnaire • Survey results from 80

    respondents show the comparison of user between Android and iOS. • There are 24 students and 2 tutors as respondents at AIS. • There are 54 respondents on the Internet by Google Forms.

  20. Conclusion • From eco-system, usability and security, • I recommended

    that most ordinary people should buy iOS phone. • From variety of products, • I recommended that most ordinary people should buy Android phone. • However, Be careful about security.
