Presented at St John's University's Teaching Narratives Symposium on Engaging Digital Learners:

Today’s learning environment is filled to the brim with all things digital. As technologies emerge and evolve, so do the expectations of learners. In this keynote talk I shared stories of student success, provided a nuanced view of digital transformation and gave tangible examples of how digital is used to enhance the student experience.

  1. “It is absolutely significant to say that students are going

to compare their online learning experience against other web or app-based experiences that they encounter. It doesn't matter that this comparison might be with Facebook, Amazon, YouTube, or Google. What matters is that course designers, web designers, information technology architects, and others involved in the online learning sphere realize that in 2019, it is completely unacceptable for online-only courses to be PDF repositories.” #SJUTNS @EricStoller
  2. “Professors and administrators at recent conferences report that some students

write entire essays on their smartphones or complete homework assignments on the bus commute to campus. Increasingly, students expect course materials to be accessible to them on their mobile devices just as they would be on a laptop.” #SJUTNS @EricStoller
