Welcome to openSUSE.Asia Summit 2024 Fuminobu TAKEYAMA (ftake) openSUSE.Asia Summit
2024 Organizing Chair Tokyo | November 2, 2024
Good morning everyone
Welcome to openSUSE.Asia Summit 2024
Welcome back to Tokyo
The last summit in Tokyo was in 2017
What was changed after the summit • Small increase in
event participants and contributors • “An active distribution, but still difficult to find users” In the previous office of SHIFT Inc.
COVID-19 made hosting events difficult
Online events became important • Advent Calendar – Common activity
in Japanese tech community – Someone writes a blog post on openSUSE everyday from Dec 1 to 25 • Instead of opening a door
What is not changed • Still publishing Geeko Magazine twice
every year
What is openSUSE.Asia Summit?
What is openSUSE.Asia Summit? …, the summits have been great
opportunities for the online community to gather in person, know each other, and share knowledge and experiences about openSUSE including applications running on it. Offline event improves online communication!
Let’s communicate! Hi! I’m ... I’m interested in ... Japanese
attendees, please help OMOTENASHI.
Sponsors Coly The Linux Foundation
Also supported by Cross-Distro Developers Camp (XDDC) • A distribution
developers community aiming at – Increasing the number of contributors – Resolving issues common among distributions
Have a lot fun...
