  1. Why HRD is extensively using graphology now ? All around

the world there is one problem common to both the employers as well as the employees- unavailability of resources. The employees find it difficult to get a dream job, while the employers are at a lack of employees. But is it that there are not enough people to fill up the vacancies? Well, not really. The problem is not the unavailability of human resources; it is the deficiency of the basic HR principle- ‘Right man for the right job at the right place and right time’. Graphology, the science of analyzing handwriting and signature, can be of great use to resolve this issue. It can analyze a person’s handwriting, and let out certain traits of that person, which no amount of interviews and discussions can reveal. More and more companies today face the major problem of choosing the right candidate for their job profile. Huge amount of money is spent on recruitments, training, and development of the new employees. Yet, even after putting in so much of efforts, screening from hundreds of candidates, based on their qualifications, through group discussions, and levels of personal rounds on interviews, many times it is seen that the chosen candidate is still not fit for the job. However, this realization comes in only after the candidate has begun work, and learnt the company norms and procedures, causing the company monetary and other losses. Graphology can help you avoid such losses. By analyzing the candidate’s handwriting right at the beginning of the recruitment process, one can know if the company is choosing the right candidate for the right job. There are times when even after having a good work profile, the company faces a very high attrition rate because of its organizational culture, adding onto the work load as well as monetary losses. By analyzing a candidate’s handwriting and signature, the company can determine if the person is suitable, not only for the given job, but also to the set code of conduct of the organization. This can thus help the company bring down its attrition rate, resulting in avoiding loss of important information and trade secrets of the company. Human Resource is an indispensable part of any organization. It is the life blood of the company. Thus recruiting and maintaining these resources is one of the most important principles of any organization, irrespective of its size, or type. Graphology can thus help in a proper channelization of this principle. It can effectively maximize the growth of your organization by minimizing your costs on recruitment and related activities. The use of this science in recruitment can not only help select the right man for the right job, but also maintain the employee at the right place and right time.
  2. Is graphology used behind the scenes by marketing professionals ?

Yes ! They can understand the nature of the client, and change there pitch accordingly, It will also help them improve there, confidence, ability of taking rejection, objection handling and many more growth oriented skills. Graphology is so important when marketing a product because seventy percent of all communication is non verbal. This means that the language is not the only selling point when researching how best to market and sell your product. Graphology has been used within the media for decades to get their message across; this extends from just the shape of the lettering, but also the positioning of the word and the colouring that is used to emphasize the meaning. Every product that costumer choose to buy has been sold not only by the quality of the product, but also by the quality of the graphics, especially the style of the writing, making graphology extremely important to the success of the product. When researching who best to complete graphics for the product, ensure that the graphic designer is one who understands the importance and the psychology of graphology and knows how best to emphasize the message.
  3. Can graphology be used in the medical field ? Your

handwriting develops right from childhood. When you write, your pen is under the control of the muscles of your fingers, hands and arm. All these body parts are under the control of your mind. The manner in which the words are eventually formed by the pen must bear a direct relationship to the mind that guides their formation. Each vibration of movement is unconsciously directed by the brain, so we can judge the mental state of the writer. It is a guide to the will power, intellect and emotions of a person. Health is a state of well being and not absence of disease. Any illness presenting itself on physical body is a result of psychological stress experience by the mind in the present or in the past. Many of the pathies in the medical science like homeopathy, ayurvedic, etc believes in treating the individual than the disease. Graphology plays a very important role here by simplifying the process of case taking and helping the doctor to reveal the mental state of the patient. The selection of the remedy in such case becomes more easier and accurate.
  4. How do teachers/parents and students benefit from graphology ? CHILD

DEVELOPMENT: Graphology is an important tool in assessing a child’s strength, weakness, moods, behaviors, likes, dislikes, etc. This becomes vital in dealing with issues that the child himself may not be aware of at times e.g. on one side of the spectrum is that a child has innate talent (aptitude) and once identified, his skills can be nurtured; on the other hand, a child could be going through sexual abuse and may not be aware of it (consciously) or may not be able to verbalize it, at such times, graphology can pinpoint the child’s state of mind. So parents can use graphology to understand their child and support them more effectively. TEACHERS AND GRAPHOLOGY: Teaching is certainly the occupation where knowledge of handwritten expression and its interpretation is the most useful. Each year, teachers are likely to see before them a great number of specimens of handwriting of a relatively homogeneous population (age, language, penmanship, upbringing, etc). Over time, without knowing it, many teachers develop "intuitive" graphological knowledge that is primarily based on the association between academic success and general handwriting features. Knowledge of graphology helps teachers to understand their students better."The handwritten act is seldom mastered before 14 years of age; one notes at this age a lack of control and regularity associated with the adult, resulting from good coordination of the movements of writing and progression." Children are analyzed in this age only to know their problem area. As handwriting reveal any psychological problem developing in the child such as sexual abuse, depression, Low self-esteem, fears etc. Graphology helps in diagnosis of these problems in children and then tackling them in different ways. Teachers and parents play an important role in diagnosing and helping children’s. Graphology is important tool in understanding children’s thought process here and now and arresting it before it turns into a uncontrollable behavior.." GRAPHOLOGY AND STUDENTS: By knowing the strengths and weaknesses of an individual, handwriting analysis can reveal hidden talents that are required for certain career directions. It is excellent tool for students as career guidance.
  5. What factors contribute to higher efficiency of graphology than other

personality tests ?  It does not involve testing or complicated questionnaires - for candidates it is non-threatening and non-intrusive.  Handwriting cannot be easily disguised or manipulated to give a false impression.  The writing can be produced at a time and place to suit the writer and is not usually affected by nervousness (as speech may be).  A handwritten document is permanent and can be re-examined later.  Handwriting analysis is objective - based entirely on a sample of handwriting. It is not influenced or prejudiced by physical factors such as appearance, age, sex, social class, race, colour etc.  Handwriting reveals inner conflicts and tension hidden below the surface.  Graphology can determine attitudes and other important factors that can affect social and working relationships.  It is easy to administer and involves very little time, effort or paperwork.  At work it aids efficiency by helping managers select and place people where skills and personal qualities can be fully utilised and developed
