  18. Case Study The Situation The Solution The Results SC//Platform Scales

Construction Infrastructure Since its founding in 2008, Breedon Group has grown into one of the UK’s largest construction materials companies, with operations spanning the UK, Ireland, and recently, the U.S. That growth came largely through acquisition, adding not just new locations but a patchwork of IT systems and infrastructure challenges. Many of Breedon's remote sites operate in rugged conditions and rural locations with minimal connectivity and little to no onsite IT staff, making reliability and manageability key priorities. The company replaced its entire infrastructure in Ireland with Scale Computing, replicating workloads between Kinnegad Cement and Mallusk to boost resilience and eventually rolling out HE151 NUC clusters at remote sites to support IoT, PowerBI integration, and real-time data collection through Azure IoT Hub. Most recently, they deployed an NVMe-powered SC//Platform cluster dedicated to data analytics workloads, running Kubernetes nodes and serving PowerBI users company-wide. Breedon Group now benefits from a consistent, scalable IT foundation that has kept pace with its aggressive expansion. With built-in snapshotting, replication, and remote support via the Scale Computing portal, the company has improved its disaster recovery posture significantly. Remote sites can be managed and monitored from a central location, and clusters can be restored quickly in the event of an issue.
  19. SC//Reliant Voice AI Case Study The Situation Yum! Brands, the

parent company of Taco Bell, faced the challenge of modernizing its drive-thru operations to meet growing customer expectations for speed, accuracy, and seamless experiences. After testing voice-activated AI technology in more than 100 Taco Bell drive-thrus across 13 states, the company identified an opportunity to scale this AI solution more broadly to improve service consistency, reduce wait times, and reduce task burdens on team members. The Solution To address these operational and customer experience goals, Yum! Brands announced the expansion of its proprietary Voice AI technology deployed Reliant Platform™ Edge Computing as a Service to hundreds of additional Taco Bell drive-thru locations across the US, with a long-term vision of rolling it out globally across its brands. This AI system is designed to take customer orders using natural language, leveraging data, feedback, and integration with Taco Bell’s digital menu boards, POS systems, and loyalty programs to create a more intuitive and efficient ordering interface. The Results Yum! Brands has seen key outcomes and expectations from the expanded deployment: enhanced order accuracy, reduced wait times, a more consistent and friendly customer experience, and a reduced task load for drive-thru employees — all contributing to improved operational performance and satisfying both customers and franchise partners. The Voice AI trials were positively received by staff and guests, and that AI testing had begun in international markets, signaling early validation of the technology’s value beyond the U.S. drive-thru environment.
  20. SC//Platform Store Transformation Case Study The Situation Advance Auto Parts

4,500+ stores relied on a single VM to support its home-grown point-of-sale system, creating risk and limited scalability. They wanted a true partner who could support modernization, simplify edge operations, and help guide integration and deployment across a distributed retail environment. The Solution Advance Auto Parts selected SC//Platform™ Edge Computing Solution to replace the single-server model with a resilient, future-ready edge infrastructure. SC//Platform delivered built-in high availability, support for both VMs and containers, and a centrally managed environment ideal for large-scale retail. The Results Advance Auto Parts immediately lowered costs, improved availability, and streamlined operations. With SC//Platform, Advance Auto Parts now has a stable, scalable foundation aligned with its POS modernization and container strategy.
  21. Next Generation Connectivity Case Study The Situation Chevron operates 8,500

fuel/c-store locations through a network of independent operators with both the Chevron and Texaco brand. Looking to modernize their stores and payment infrastructure, they did a review of available managed network service provides. Participated in a detailed security and compliance validation process The Solution Scale Computing won Chevron’s business by providing the only available solution that combined both advanced networking and security features with the ability to ability to run a range of value added applications at the store location. The Results Chevron has a new network for its operators that includes both next generation networking and security with the ability to support integrated payment, full observability, broadband and 45/5G networking, and overall PCI security through the AcuVigil secure endpoint. As an approved service provider, Scale Computing is directly contracting with individual operators.
