  1. 3 Common Mistakes Not using Auto-Tune with the correct key

    1. Placing Auto-Tune in the wrong order in your plug-in chain 2. Not using Auto-Tune with the correct key 3. Relying on Auto-Tune to hit notes
  2. The Correct Order If you’re using Auto-Tune after you’ve used

a bunch of plug-ins, Auto-Tune will have a hard time adjusting your pitch.
  3. Auto-Tune gets the #1 spot! Always! Always! Always! Believe it

or not… The order of your plug-ins matter. For example: - If you use a reverb before an EQ, you’ll be EQing the reverb instead the raw vocal. Same applies here. You want Auto-Tune to hear your notes exactly as you sang them so it can accurately correct the notes. That make sense?
  4. Finding The Key If you’re not set in the right

key, your vocals will be fighting against the instrumental. And creating good music is all about making sure things work together!
  5. The #1 Easiest Way Auto-Key has been the easiest way

for me to find the key for instrumentals. It comes with Antares Unlimited Bundle, which I highly recommend. Automatically detects the key and scale of your song..
  6. AudioKeychain.com AudioKeychain.com will find the key of any song you

upload. It’s free to use and you can just drag & drop songs directly.
  7. Do Not Rely on Auto-Tune! If you’re having a hard

time reaching notes, Auto-Tune won’t help you reach them (for the most part). Auto-Tune helps you stay in key while polishing the notes you’re already hitting.
  8. Auto-Tune is like bowling with guard rails. As long as

you roll down the lane, you’ll hit the pins. But if you go directly into the gutter, the rails can’t help you.
  9. 3 Things to Think About 1. Always place Auto-Tune at

the top of your plug-in chain 2. Make sure you’re in the right key 3. Use Auto-Tune to help hit the notes, not to create the notes.
