It’s all about the user experience: How we decreased from over 100 clicks to 15

In this session we tell the story of a successful Connections re-launch.
The Eurapco social connections platform, e-join, was launched in February 2015. We already have 2.000 users and we keep growing and improving day by day. We recently released e-join 2.0 with an improved interface and usability.
With the feedback of our users in mind, we have updated and simplified our interface and navigation. We present a simplified, fresh and intuitive look and feel. We decreased from 100 clicks to 15 in a standard page!
We’ll show you where we started and what the result is. With the help of customizer, we were able to change the look dramatically. We will share the feedback from the end users and also the lessons learned when it comes to browsers and development work.

Customizer to the rescue!! • Needs Docker instance, at least “Customizer light”, part of Component Pack • Acts as proxy (injects css and javascript based on url) • No changes on existing Connections css/jsp/javascript/etc files • Only way to customize Connections dynamically – NO RESTART • Controlled changes with enable/disable functionality – user, apps, browser • Easy and fast to achieve: • Hide and change (names, colours, icons) • Not so easy and huge efforts: • Data to display somewhere else • Multilanguage handling • Move elements • Need to know more, we are happy to help
