  1. Project Management Framework  Organizations are systematic arrangements of entities

    (persons and/or departments) aimed at accomplishing a purpose, which may involve undertaking projects.
  2. Project Management Framework  Organizational structure is an enterprise environmental

    factor, which can affect the availability of resources and influence how projects are conducted .  Organizational structures range from functional to projectized, with a variety of matrix structures in between.
  3. Project Management Framework  Each employee has one clear superior

     Staff members are grouped by specialty, such as production, marketing, engineering, and accounting at the top level.  Each department in a functional organization will do its project work independently of other departments  Project Manager Authority is little or none  Project Manager rule is part-time
  4. Project Management Framework  Advantages 1) Each employee has one

    manager only 2) Resources are central because it is grouped by department 3) Employees get mush experience in their specialties  Disadvantages 1) Employee focus on functional work more than project work
  5. Project Management Framework  Organization is grouped by projects 

    Each project has project manager  Employees are assigned and reported by project manager  Project Manager Authority is high or almost total  Project Manager rule is full-time
  6. Project Management Framework  Advantages 1) Project team focus on

    the project work and the loyalty to the project  Disadvantages 1) Team member has no home after finishing his project home  Move to another project  Move to another company
  7. Project Management Framework  Matrix Organization reflect a blend of

    functional and projectized characteristics  Each project has project manager and functional manager and share the power  Employees are reported by project manager and functional manager  Employees do the project work and functional work
