Data Worlds — Boris Mueller & Moritz Stefaner - SAP UX Day 2016.pdf

In the last 10 years, we have witnessed the rise of mobile computing. Smartphones are now the most dominant form of computers worldwide.

The next revolution will be about software and about the user interface. The desktop metaphor is no longer valid on smartphones and tablets. But what comes next?

Tasks, workflows and communication become increasingly data driven and fragmented. In our talk, we will explore design perspectives for creating expressive, intriguing, and elegant information experiences. What is the perfect form for information, and which new visual and mental models can help us navigate tomorrow’s data rich environments?

New paradigms for the Data User Interface
  4. Moritz Stefaner lives and breathes data visualization — as an

    independent designer, consultant and researcher.
For over 15 years, he has been helping organizations, researchers and businesses to find truth and beauty in relevant and meaningful data. He has worked with clients like FIFA, Skype, and dpa and
has long-term consulting relationships with the OECD, the
World Economic Forum and the Max Planck Research Society. http://truth-and-beauty.net http://datastori.es

  77. Data Seasonal wind forecasts Wind power capacities RESILIENCE PROTOTYPE IC3

Figure 1: Example of a wind speed forecast (also referred to as a prediction): This aims to illustrate all the terms explained in this document, for a specific location in Canada. It is possible to see the values of the forecast categories (horizontal blue and red lines for lower and upper tercile respectively) for this specific location. The value of the RPSS is shown inside the box, and it is positive for this location, therefore, the forecast values are giving us more information than the climatology alone. The percentages of wind forecast values of each tercile category informs the end user about what category of wind speed will be the most probable for the forecasted period (with the stated forecast lead time) +
