  1. The Informer November and December 2014 • MTI students have

been diligently working on their Ready-to-Work cerƟficaƟons, which is an employee creden- Ɵaling program that tests job skills and work habits. There are approximately 40 regional businesses who require this cerƟficaƟon for employment. • Do you have great pictures of school-related acƟviƟes? Make sure you are emailing them to Ms. Antley or Mrs. Bowman to ensure they find their way into the 2014-2015 yearbook! • The Senior Project rough draŌ is due November 20. The final draŌ is due December 18. This is a huge part of your English and Academy grade. Plan accordingly! • CerƟficaƟons have been earned by the beef-load! In just the first quarter, MTI students have earned more than 170 cerƟficaƟons. A celebratory cook-out was hosted for them. What’s Happening? Shout Outs! D R I V E MTI students and staff have been conƟnuously spoƩed on the Extra Mile: • CongratulaƟons to Teacher of the Year John Conway and Rookie Teacher of the Year Vicki Yancey. • RAD and AutomoƟve student Brandon Fredericks received a paid internship with the Marion County School System Public RelaƟons Department. • MTI was awarded Runner-up for Best in Show at the Chili Cook-off on November 8. We also received first place in the Small OrganizaƟon category. Special thanks to Kara Wickham for the winning recipe. • The IT Academy Garage Sale was a huge success, bringing in more than $300 on the first day. Look for more dates later in the year. • MTI was awarded first place in the Red Ribbon Week compeƟƟon. A $500 cash prize will be earmarked towards this year’s prom. The D.R.I.V.E. Store is open for business and students are spending their D.R.I.V.E. Dollars during the lunch hour and between 6th and 7th period breaks. Students earn this incenƟve when they exhibit the qualiƟes that MTI and businesses look for in producƟve individuals: dedicaƟon, respect, integrity, vision and endurance. Thank you to Dave Harden and Rob Boyer for lending your experƟse during our Family MeeƟngs. We look forward to learning about Integrity and DedicaƟon in our next two months.
