  1. How it Began.  The foundations for the first video

games were created by using CRT (cathode ray tube) technology  CRT’s are used to make monitors for PC’s, TV, etc.
  2. How it Began.  It is unknown exactly who made

the first interactive video game  The earliest known instance of an interactive electronic game was first created in 1947  Thomas T. Goldsmith Jr. and Estle Ray Mann are the ones who set the foundations for the first games
  3. How it Began.  The first video game was entitled

“Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Devise”  In reality it was the first missile simulation game
  4. How it Works.  The game works by using analog

circuitry, not digital circuits to control the CRT beam  The CRT beam is the green dot  Screen overlays were used to for the missile targets , since screen graphics at that time weren’t advanced enough to be drawn yet.  Control knobs are used to adjust the strength and signal output to control the trajectory of the ray of light
  5. How video games came to be.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x24KoVNl iMk&feature=player_detailpage 

To help explain the history of video games please watch the video above. Or if that don’t work go to YouTube.com and watch “A brief history of video games (part 1) – Safwat Saleem”.
  6. Real Video Games  Sadly, everything about the CRT Amusement

Device is purely mechanical  No computer generated graphics, are used. no programming or memory  Real video games are determined by what you would consider a “video” game
  7. Real Video Games  The first AI (Artificial Intelligence) was

developed 5 years after the CRT amusement device  Alexander Sandy is the man who created the first AI  The so called “First” video game ever, was actually a game called Noughts and Crosses.
