  1. Engaging Business Blogs  Blogging is critical for successful branding.

 Blog posts keep your site relevant, generate more web traffic, and ultimately lead to more sales.  Blog posts must be fresh, engaging, and give the reader something new to consider.
  2.  Google has changed its algorithm to give heavier weight

to content using tags.  Your content should include one H1 tag that will act as your title tag.  All subheadings on your page should use H2 or H3 tags. Use Heading Tags
  3.  Google Authorship is one of the easiest ways to

prove your authority on a subject. Take Advantage of Google Authorship  Adding authorship can improve the click-through rate (CTR) by almost 30 percent.  Make sure you are taking advantage of this great marketing tool.
  4.  Short posts, especially those 300 words or less, won’t

do as well in search results.  Aim for at least 500-1,000 words with each post.  Longer posts allow you to optimize keywords without stuffing.  Quality content continues to be one of the most important aspects of SEO in 2014. Optimize Blog Post Lengths
  5.  Many people misunderstood the latest Google changes.  Keywords

are still relevant, but long tail keywords are the preferred option for web content now.  The key is to focus on natural content and worry less about keywords. Keywords are Still Relevant
  6.  Focus on topics rather than keywords.  Providing information

on a relevant topic and keeping your focus on what would best help the searcher should naturally optimize the page.  Too much emphasis on keywords can hurt your site. Topic Targeting
  7.  Written content isn’t the only way to optimize your

keywords.  Relevant alt image tags can improve the SEO ranking of the page, and of your entire site.  Make sure you implement tags that suit the images that you use. Alt Image Tags
  8.  URLs should be no more than 100 characters long.

 Include location-based keywords for local SEO.  Use hyphens or dashes to separate each word in the URL.  Most content management systems like WordPress will automatically handle URL optimization. Optimized URLs
