  6. Open Incognito Window #CloudStudyJam In order to make this StudyJam

    run smoothly, without conflicts, we need to run all the labs in an incognito window (private mode), so make sure to open a new incognito window, and let’s get started!
  7. Let’s get started! First, go to the link provided by

    your facilitator. This will earn you one month of free access to Qwiklabs. Second, if you don’t already have a Qwiklabs account, create one now. Make sure you check the opt-in box for promos! If you already have an account, go to bit.ly/qwiklabs-profile, check the Marketing Opt In box and click the Update User button. If you still don’t have an account, create one now bit.ly/qwiklabs-signup That Opt In option makes you eligible for additional free access after you complete the GCP Essentials labs. #CloudStudyJam
  8. First, click the GCP Essentials quest. If you don’t see

    it, go to google.qwiklabs.com/quests/23 Then, click the Creating a Virtual Machine link. The first lab #CloudStudyJam
  9. Let’s make our profile public and prepare our link for

    celebration! You can share your profile link with others online On the left options, click on “My Learning”, then on the top right corner make your profile public if it’s private, and copy that link. Your badges appear here. Now send your profile link to your facilitator on the slack channel. Prepare your public profile #CloudStudyJam
  10. Together we will complete these labs in the venue from

    GCP Essentials: • Creating a Virtual Machine. • Provision Services with Cloud Launcher. • Creating a Persistent Disk (Activity Tracking. Skip the Cloud Shell lab for now. You will complete that at home. Complete three labs #CloudStudyJam
  11. Break Wow, you have done a lot in the Cloud

    in a short amount of time! You’ve earned a break. Share with fellow attendees what you found hard or easy in the labs so far.
  12. Your Facilitator has picked the fourth and final lab. It

    is one of these: • Rent-a-VM to Process Earthquake Data Find it by going to google.qwiklabs.com/catalog and entering earthquake in the search field at the top of the page. • Introduction to Docker Find it by going to google.qwiklabs.com/catalog and entering introduction to docker in the search field at the top of the page. You will complete the Facilitator-picked lab together. You can complete the other one at home. Fourth and final lab #CloudStudyJam
  13. You have completed four labs and you now have a

    good basic understanding of Google Cloud Platform. Congratulations, well done! From here on you will pick your own path and continue at home: 1. Complete the remaining four labs in the GCP Essentials quest (qwiklabs.com/quests/23) This will earn you an online badge and one additional month of free access to Qwiklabs. 2. Share your badges with the world by going to google.qwiklabs.com/dashboard and click View Public Profile. 3. Tell fellow attendees when you have completed step 1. Your Facilitator will share the online channel for your group. 4. Decide on which additional badges you will go for from google.qwiklabs.com/catalog Remember that your free Qwiklabs access has an expiration date. You are on your way
