Belgium (Europe). The concept is simple: each week, we gather in groups to brainstorm about innovative solutions to specific problems affecting society, e.g. air pollution, traffic jams, waste. Ideally, we want to collaborate with startups to work on concrete projects with impact. During our sessions, we learn about divergent thinking and how to approach a problem from a unique angle, basically how to get “out of the box”. OUR VISION FOSTER INNOVATION AMONG STUDENTS TO CREATE THE NEXT WAVE OF CHANGE MAKERS 2 Outside the Box LLN
come from Belgium. I am a new 1st year graduate student in EE at UCLA. I am also the founder and former president of Outside the Box. How the brain works fascinates me. I love analyzing the mental aspect of everything, including the generation of ideas. I was curious about why some people are more creative than others and what are the circumstances that allow great ideas to be born. I wanted to become an entrepreneur, but I couldn’t find the unique and innovative idea I wanted. Many structures exist once you have an idea. Unfortunately, not many help you find one. I wanted to create something that would help people go from 0 to 1. That’s when the story began.

thing we do is to define our objectives Then define and quantify the criteria’s of a perfect solution. List all the factors that influence a customer behavior, a sale, the atmosphere, etc. It’s important to have NO limit here! To do so, we use many different techniques 1. Les Connexions Insolites 2. MindMap 3. Personas 4. « What would … do ? » 5. Etc … This is the time where we synthetize our ideas. Coming back to reality, we confront the ideas with our criteria. Then we summarize them to present them to the client THE CREATIVE PROCESS
