Based on qualitative research from NHS Lothian and Cyrenians in Edinburgh, Scotland, this blueprint explores the integration of green social prescribing into primary healthcare for homeless populations with complex needs. By replacing rigid clinical settings with a trauma-informed community garden, the initiative shifts focus from deficit-based emergency treatments to preventative, strengths-based care. Through three levels of influence—nature as sanctuary, individual empowerment, and de-stigmatized social inclusion—the framework demonstrates how flexible, nature-based interventions can restore personal dignity, agency, and community connection beyond traditional medical labels.
