The Glutes You have three gluteal muscles on each side
of the back of your pelvis -- the gluteus minimus, gluteus medius and gluteus maximus. Gluteus Minimus This is the smallest of the glute muscles. It abducts the thigh, helps with hip stabilization, and assists in the thigh’s internal and external rotation. HHF MODULE 4 © PILATES TONIC AND HAPPY HIP FLEXORS, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

Gluteus Medius The gluteus medius abducts and extends the thigh.
It also helps with hip stabilization, as well as internal and external rotation of the thigh. HHF MODULE 4 © PILATES TONIC AND HAPPY HIP FLEXORS, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

The Hamstrings You have three hamstring muscles located on the
back of each thigh -- the semimembranosus, semitendinosus, and biceps femoris. Semimembranosus This is the deepest of the hamstring muscles. It flexes the leg at the knee and internally rotates the leg. HHF MODULE 4 © PILATES TONIC AND HAPPY HIP FLEXORS, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
Semitendinosus Flexes the leg at the knee joint and internally
rotates the leg. HHF MODULE 4 © PILATES TONIC AND HAPPY HIP FLEXORS, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
Biceps Femoris Flexes and externally rotates the lower leg at
the knee joint and extends the thigh at the hip joint. HHF MODULE 4 © PILATES TONIC AND HAPPY HIP FLEXORS, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
