The Name Of Jesus | Part 2

In the ancient East your name was more than just words, it was your identity. Your name was reflective of your character, your substance and the very fibre that made you, you.

Our Mission at Renewal is to 'lift up the name of Jesus'. We want people to know that through the name of Jesus you can receive salvation! Through these messages not only do we want people to receive Jesus and grow in Him, but to help represent His name, in our hearts, lives and to others.

  1. One day Peter and John were going up to the

temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Acts 3:1–10 (NIV)
  2. Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have,

but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. Acts 3:1–10 (NIV)
  3. But these are written so that you may continue to

believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name. JOHN 20:31 (NLT)
  4. The members of the council were amazed when they saw

the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognised them as men who had been with Jesus. ACTS 4:13 (NLT)
  5. And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the

Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness LUKE 4:1 (ESV)
  6. And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to

Galilee, and a report about him went out through all the surrounding country. LUKE 4:14 (ESV)
