    democratizes access to these tools • supports hands-on, project-based, and interest-driven learning • serves as a competitive advantage • provides a place for critical and creative thinking

    • 62% on uPrint, 38% on MakerBot • ~500 unique users • 54% said they would not have been able to 3D print otherwise • ~69% of users are engineers
  5. Next Steps: Two Directions 1. A second Makerspace with everything

    integrated; an open lab with teaching space 2. Focus on high-end 3D printing service at Hunt to meet advanced users’ demands
  6. Tips for Makerspaces • Think beyond buying the 3D printer

    to the user experience, service, access, maintenance. • Make connections on campus. • Start small, let it grow. • Capture and tell users’ stories.
