Everything I Know About Web Design I Learned from Geocities is a lightning talk written and presented at Railsconf 2016 in Kansas City, MO. I had been developing this talk since the previous year's WindyCityRails, and had a great time squishing it to fit in five minutes. In this talk, I discuss brutalist web design in the era of Geocities, and what lessons we can take from hit counters, "under construction" banners, and Comic Sans.
