Startups have some “uniqueness” in comparison with traditional companies or Big techs.
I’ve found that some people like the uniqueness while others don’t.
I wanted to share little tips to enjoy the uniqueness to those who are in
a startup or joining a startup.

  6. Traditional company Established process, Rich trainings, Clear org and responsibility

    Startup Broken process, Almost zero training, Chaotic organization
  7. You might complain… There’re so many essential things are missing

    in this company!!! But you can think like… This is a good opportunity to propose and drive creating what’s you think needed for your company

    guess more than a thousand in the historical total
  9. What about if you were the one of sculptors worked

    on the project? Can you imagine how you would feel?
  10. Proud of it. What about if you were the one

    of sculptors worked on the project? Can you imagine how you would feel?
  11. Imagine your company get large one day with thousands employees

    What you started is called an important part of their culture How would you feel it?
  12. Being a creator and a visitor are so different. If

    something missing, let’s build it. Build your company’s culture, be a part of the history.
  13. As soon as you start work in a startup, you

    will find out wearing double/triple hats is daily life in a startup. sometimes key positions are simply empty. Full functionality can be missing. credit:AdrianMedia
  14. You might complain… Leaders are not talented enough to occupy

    the position. Or, double-hat boss has limited time to pay attention for your work But you can think like… This is a good opportunity to take that position. It’s a shortcut to get promoted!
  15. Extremely speaking, If you would like to be CEO of

    a company with… 1,000 employees: you compete with 999 2 employees: just beat the guy next to you!
  16. a Startup is extraordinarily chaotic. No one blames you if

    you want extra ordinal career development in exchange. Raise your hand.
  17. How? easy. Tell your boss that “please propose my promotion”

    or if there’s an empty position, just tell “let me do it” Yes -> promoted! yay No -> Ask what’s the gap. Clarify with what improvement or achievement they will propose your promotion. Write it down to clarify.
  18. In startup, sometimes you need to run the front line

    of the market development even no one knows if the market really exists. On the other day,You need to work on features which with completely new concept and nobody tried in the past.
  19. Traditional company Mature market. Established theories. Easier prediction. Startup New

    world. No solid success cases. Everything is ambiguous.
  20. You might complain… Nobody knows the right answer. How can

    I convince my team to move forward? But you can think like… You can be an inventor of new standard.
  21. How would you feel if you made an invention/discovery and

    it has your name like… Tanaka button Bob’s algorithm Yuhei’s padarox John Index…etcetc sounds interesting??
  22. If there’s no established theory or solid method, you can

    be the first one to establish it. Of course you can be the first one to fail on the problem. Well, highly likely.
  23. Failure is a part of daily life in a startup.

    Even we don’t call it a failure. That’s a result of experiment #1. Learn from it. Let’s start experiment #2. Iterate fast until you find out the right way to go.

  25. You can change things, culture, company or even society slowly

    Usually not happens overnight. But for sure you’ll make the progress. As long as you continue to do it with your brave. I promise you.

    you will help you I know your boss persuade you I know your company needs your brilliant idea I know you are here to do something extra ordinal I know you never settle down until achieve it Those are why I’m confident that you will make it
  27. Be brave. Be a creator. Drive building the company history.

    Raise your hand. Develop your career. Invent the future.Let’s do treasure hunting! You will make it. Just be brave.
