Travis L. Scholten is the Technical Lead for the Public Sector at IBM Quantum. In this role, he works with governmententities to identify opportunities to take advantage of nascent quantum computers and advances in quantum computational science to drive impact. In addition, Travis sits on the Board of Directors of the Unitary Fund, a non-profit working to create a quantum technology ecosystem that benefits the most people; he is also a Policy Hacker Fellow with the Foundation for American Innovation, a non-profit whose mission is to develop technology, talent, and ideas that support a better, freer, and more abundant future. From his time at IBM Quantum, Travis has extensive experience in quantum research, software, and working across diverse, cross-functional teams. Prior to joining IBM Quantum in 2018, Travis received a PhD in Physics from the University of New Mexico, and earned a BS degree in Physics from the California Institute of Technology in 2012.
