Expectations ‣It would be great to have more interaction with other groups ‣We lack the exposure to activities going on in the department ‣Better sharing of information regarding the SI itself and new initiatives and projects in it. ‣Another idea could be to have brainstorming sessions to discuss possible research cooperation between different teams, but also possible thesis co-supervision between teams.

Expectations Continued ‣Some of us have no idea of what an institute should be beyond a simple “aggregation” of professors & their research groups. ‣About SI seminars, people would prefer to have an abstract some time before to be motivated to participate. The more the topics become attractive, the more people will naturally feel motivated to attend. Please share the schedule with the XBOW mailing list. ‣There’s a lack of community feeling at the institute level. People appear without being introduced. It would be great to introduce new people (including visitors with websites etc) in the mailing list and organize, from time to time (once a month), a lunch in mensa all together.
