What do you desire?

Good afternoon friends!!

Today, I am here to ask you one question. What would you do if “some” thing didn't matter? I’ll come to that some thing later.
We all know…. there are few things in life money cant buy. But for everything else, there is__________. Ah yes! MasterCard!

…and the product sells. Why? B’coz we buy. And what makes us buy? Money! What if money was not that important? What if money did not matter to us? A hard question. One that some (many) can not even face. …

What is money?
A means to meet our material needs.. While actually, it is nothing but a rope that binds us invisibly to the life we think we are destined to live. Something that drives the choices we make in life and sculpts the lives we live.

Be it an old homeless man or a 5 year old child…. We are unconsciously conscious of our financial condition with every tick of the clock. The kid is aware of the pocket money that she gets. The old man is aware of his earnings. There is something that stands between us and our dreams. By now I assume my enlightened audience already know what it is….MONEY! That is what makes us who we are…engineers, lawyers, doctors…..

The case is no different when it comes to the my personal case or any youngster.
After four and a half years (1,643 days…39,432 hours 2,365,920…minutes…141,955,200seconds) we are clueless about what’s next!

Why is society blind regarding the evil face of money?
We are all born into a society focused on gaining money. When a person is introduced into the world he is expected to go to school, get a job, have kids, and this vicious circle goes on..with his children, grand children… So the name of the game is gain. Gaining wealth, power, and assets has been the prime goal of billions of people. The reality is, we’ve all forgotten that money is just a medium. Life is a journey to a greater plane…a search
Instead of curing disease and helping the sick, many hospitals are now focused on profit, not the betterment of society. Instead of researching for knowledge and a better understanding of the world, science is used to improve the products and services of companies so that they’re more profitable. So, instead of the world working towards bettering itself, its switched its focus to the acquisition of paper that only retains value because we believe it to have any.
Our current system of educating youth is also somewhat at fault. Although we do motivate children to be all that they can, there is always an economic undertone to any advice given. When the choice between two careers is made, the annual salary is emphasized, not the impact it has on society.

So, instead of a child playing to their strengths to give society all the help that it needs, they’re steered down a path that leads to more money. If this problem is going to be fixed, a lot more than our educational system needs a revamp.
It may seem impossible for a society to overcome the problems of currency, but the idea isn’t far from our reach. All its takes is a simple understanding of what a society is. Society isn’t a group of people working dead end jobs barely scraping by, it’s a community of individuals that work towards bettering not only themselves but the group as a whole.

Everyone has their part to play and different strengths to bring to the table. If we want to survive we must all work together. Disputes will only slow our progress into the next era.

That brings me to the most important question. ___________
If money didn't matter, how would you really enjoy spending your life?

If I were to ask you to answer from the very bottom of your hearts, keeping your hand over your heart, I don't think anybody here would say I want to be a Billionaire or I want to end up having a thousand sacks of cash stashed in it……

I think most of you will, at some point have had thoughts of being a painter, musician, poet, photographer, sportsman, writer,…..
But our situations clasped us an identity that we never wished we would have.

What I wish to say is very simple my dear friends,

We may have a hundred problems holding us back from doing what we really wish we could do….our desires.

Our desires are nothing but our dreams. Maybe, dissecting a dream with analytical skills and logic will prove that the dream is not worth pursuing.

But just like our belief in God, following or dreams without any rationality has proven to be the cornerstone of success for many great men and women.
So, go ahead…dream dream dream.

Ask yourself once again “What do I desire?”…and follow that desire…your dream!
On a closing note, when I was preparing this presentation one of my friends happened to walk into my room.

He pointed out you have missed putting Dr. in front of APJ Abdul Kalam. Then I said “my dear friend, I do not respect Abdul Kalam for his titles, but for the the great person he is!”
