You should read the terms of service and licensing for each site before you use any images as terms may change at any time.** Why am I writing this guide? People ask me all the time where I find the photos that I use for my picture quotes, blog and social media. I use several sources that I share below. Let me share some of my story with you. I had several problems with images when I started my EncouragerMom.com website, blog and social media pages. I knew images would be an important component of reaching people for my new site but how could I afford standard stock photos? • Because I started a ministry that was not designed to make a profit, I had no budget but wanted to proceed anyway • My primary channel to reach people was my Facebook Page. I featured mostly images which I posted several times a day. Lots of images add up to very expensive! • With a need for so many photos each day to accomplish my social media goals, I did not have a budget for stock photography to provide me with so many photos. Even a dollar per image adds up but many sites were asking $10 or more for a reasonably-sized image. • I needed better options. Page of 2 12

Without engagement, it is hard to rise above all the online noise and be noticed. • Images for your blog and social media that readers will like so much, they will click and share are essential for building organic reach on any online channel. • High-quality images build trust in your brand and encourage people to do business with you. Problem: •You need lots of images for your blog or site, social media and online publications. •Your budget for images is limited •You want to find modern, attractive images that will attract readers/visitors •You require the licensing flexibility for both editorial and commercial purposes Solution #1: Next step, do a Google images search and just grab some images from there? hit by a lawsuit as even “small” bloggers are experiencing everyday, choose another option. • Wrongful use of images posted online by others is a serious offense and can cost you plenty in legal fees and usage fees. So what can you do to find images that: • are high-quality, high-resolution • engage viewers and • encourage others to follow you, • lend a modern feel to your projects • make sharing your site or business easier • avoid legal and copyright trouble? the autumn sky. Some images that I use are taken by me and my family, using our family’s photography equipment and post-processing software. I will cover that approach in another resource guide. However, I needed more than just images that we took. This brings me to our final, five-star solution!
