  2. Immigration Law. Immigration law refers to the rules established by

the federal government for determining who is allowed to enter the country, and for how long. It also governs the naturalization process for those who desire to become U.S. citizens. ... State governments are prohibited from enacting immigration laws. The Naturalization Law of 1802 repealed the Naturalization Act of 1798. The Fourteenth Amendment, passed in 1868, protects children born in the United States.
  3. VISA FOR INVESTORS AND ENTREPRENEURS For those who do not

have a US citizen family member or a US employer to sponsor them, The EB-5 Green Card program is an alternative solution to apply for legal permanent residence in the US. The Immigration Act of 1990 established the EB-5 immigrant investor visa program to create U.S. jobs by attracting foreign capital to the United States. Every year 10,000 EB-5 Green Cards are available. There are two types of EB5 programs- the Regular program and Regional Center program

  9. Critical Need for a US StartUp Visa for Immigrant Entrepreneurs

Exposed in a New Book The Kauffmann Foundation predicts that, without a startup visa, the U.S. will miss the chance to create 1.6 million jobs over the next 10 years. Seattle-based immigration lawyer, Tahmina Watson, offers a compelling argument for a change in archaic immigration law in her new book For more information and any press inquiries please contact Mel Carson at [email protected] or +1 (425) 780-6242
  10. US immigration officials can now deport hosts of migrant children

A new federal policy will allow federal agents to investigate, and possibly arrest and deport, families who step up to host children found at the border. It's the latest in a series of enforcement actions by the Trump administration intended to discourage a new surge in unauthorized immigrants.
  11. Passionate Advocacy We are just as passionate about changing the

law for the better. US immigration laws were set in the 1950’s and are simply not in line with modern times. Almost all aspects of the law need reform – families need to be reunited and modern business practices need to be taken into account. As immigration attorneys, we are the first people our clients see to learn about how the law applies to them or doesn’t apply to them. At Watson Immigration Law, we are passionate about what we do.
