    wife Linda   built more then 300,000 houses worldwide   providing safe, decent shelter for more than 1,500,000 people worldwide   A new habitat house is completed somewhere in the world every 24 minutes

    Their Mission   Develop communities with people in need by

    building and renovating houses   Decent and affordable houses for everyone

    How it Works   Houses are built with voluntee labor

    and donations of money and material   homeowners contribute ‘sweat equity’ in their houses by working in partnership with other volunteers (min. 500)   pride in ownership   development of skills and knowledge   sold to families at no profit

    How are Families chosen?   Usually by their annual gross

    income and number of family members   Living conditions (overcrowded/substandard)   Families pay some down payment ($1000 in the USA) and then make monthly payments for the house ($350-430 in the USA)
