How to... Break into Tech as a Non-Techie

How to... Break into Tech as a Non-Techie

This deck was presented at Tech(K)now Day (October 2018), one of the largest events celebrating Ada Lovelace Day in London (www.techknowday.com). The target audience were predominantly women looking to break into technology.

According to a recent Tech Nation report, the UK tech sector is growing 2.6 times faster than the overall economy. However, there is also a large tech talent gap, where there is a shortage of people who know how to code. Employers are having to rethink their talent strategy, having to increase efforts and explore alternative methods, such as partnerships with coding bootcamps, to attract talent into our industry.

This is a presentation for those:
- looking to break into the industry, looking for resources to learn how to code
- interested in learning what other non-technology opportunities are available for you
- looking to learn from industry insiders how to make your CV and application stand out
- interested in learning personal branding strategies
- interested in learning from the challenges women face in the workplace
