you, but what you can do for God.  B. The Lord helps those who help themselves  C. Money is the cause of all evil  D. Early to bed and early to rise maketh one healthy, wealthy and wise  E. Cleanliness is next to Godliness
  2.  Q: What is a “Prophet”?  Q: Why is

this important for us:  Recognize false teaching  Jesus warns us  We need to stand on truth  We need to learn how to check for truth ourselves
  3.  15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to

you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
  4.  Acts 20:29: “ I know that after I leave,

savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.”  Q: Why were we warned?
  5.  6 I am astonished that you are so quickly

deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!
  6.  Q: Why is it a problem to say that

our good works are needed in addition to faith to be saved?  Q: Where do we see that falsely being taught now?  - Mormonism  -JW
  7.  2 But false prophets also arose among the people,

just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words.
