BCS Deaf Church Sermon from May 31st, 2015 continues the series on the Sermon on the Mount from Matthew 6:12, 14-15. This sermon looks at forgiveness and why it is so important in our lives.

6. Matthew 6:12-15 Goals: • Understand why not forgiving is so dangerous • Understand why forgiveness is so important. • Understand why Jesus said we are not forgiven if we do not forgive!

Matthew 6:12-15 • 12 And forgive us our debts, • as we also have forgiven our debtors. • 13 And lead us not into temptation,[a] • but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’ • 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Take Home Points • Ask God to help you understand how much you have been forgiven! – Maybe for the first time accept that forgiveness or understand it! • Think about people who you have broken relationships with – or people you do not like…. Are you not forgiving them for something? • Choose to forgive them!
