Direction interministérielle du numérique • It’s okay to pay for ongoing maintenance and new features • It’s okay to sponsor structures for past developments • But you cannot “finance” past developments • And you cannot “sponsor” new features or ongoing maintenance • What about individual maintainers, some of whom are volunteers? Funding FLOSS with public money comes with constraints
