User Research for ASRock X10

Get some ideas from user's motivations for IoT by researching qualitative metrics from the Internet. By responding their needs and wants, we are clear on what features we should build on the new version app.

Besides that, I analysed how the integration of IoT utility will impact current behaviour of this app which is used for router management.

    • He downloaded X10 app and followed the instructions to set them up • Plugged power adapter to the smart socket • He saw info on electricity consumption and estimated cost right away. • After a week, he got a report showing how much time he ran for electricity this week with estimated cost. • Right now he knew what adjustment he might need to make • Another week later, he got a report saying he had improved! Great! Keep going! • A month later, his electricity billed less money than ever. • He was going to buy more plugs to monitor different rooms that are using his home energy

    that supported by X10 • He downloaded X10 app and followed the instructions to set them up • The app immediately showed him the info about air quality status and electricity consumption with related controls • He wanted to trigger the power automatically for the light at the door when he get home at evening. • There was a mode called Home, made him easy to rule the smart plug • He scheduled the time (18:00-09:00) and add a condition only if he was really at home via Geo location from mobile. • Right now when he got home, the door light would open for him. Very smart!
