Chris Tse, Founding Director of the Cardstack Project, takes a deep dive into the multi-currency payment & billing network called the “CARD Protocol”—which is the economic layer that makes the Cardstack network worthwhile for all participants.

The main components of the protocol are customer acceptance and revenue distribution. Customers can use a simple prepaid card like a gift card to redeem services on the network, while rewards get distributed fairly to all contributors of the ecosystem.

    • Tally as the administrative layer to coordinate the multi-sided economy.

    Computation done the Cardstack Hub way using functional reactive properties. Interact with the chain
    using techniques that tested and proven in the wider ecosystem (e.g. oracles)
    • Plan to continuously evolve the on-chain/off-chain mix to balance all the qualities
    that matter in real web apps: ease, speed, cost, trust model, security, etc.
