  1. About Us We opened City Acupuncture in 2008 with one

simple mission: to make acupuncture a part of mainstream American health care. To accomplish this mission, we have drastically lowered the cost, increased our availability, and cut a lot of the unnecessary (and frankly, uncomfortable) excess from the modern acupuncture experience. We don't push a lifestyle philosophy, we aren't running a fancy spa, and we don't pretend to be gurus - we are just acupuncturists with a LOT of experience, who believe strongly that acupuncture should be available for everyone!
  2. Acupuncture is Natural Healing Acupuncture treats the body as a

whole rather than focusing on individual symptoms. It works by stimulating the body to heal itself, using its own resources. When hair- thin, sterile needles are inserted into your skin by one of our licensed acupuncturists, your nervous system registers this as a micro-injury. This triggers the brain to release chemicals called endorphins. Although these are produced naturally by the body, they work in a similar way to opiate medication.
  3. Acupuncture for Back Pain Relief Back pain is a common

condition which most people will experience to some extent during their lifetime. It is also one of the most common reasons why people come for acupuncture treatment. Back pain can be successfully treated with acupuncture and TCM in a number of ways. Acupuncture is good for restoring the flow of qi and blood and preventing stagnation. It also relaxes the muscles and relieves inflammation and pain.
  4. Acupuncture for Knee Pain Acupuncture for knee pain is a

safe and natural way to manage symptoms and prevent knee problems from getting worse. Acupuncture relieves pain by affecting the central nervous system and stopping pain signals from getting through to the brain. It also triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers. These work in a similar way to opioid painkillers, but without any of the dangerous side effects.
  5. Acupuncture for Acne Most people associate acne with teenagers, but

this common skin condition can affect people of all ages. When acne strikes, it can be both painful and distressing. Furthermore, treatment options are limited and can cause a variety of unpleasant side effects. From a TCM perspective, acupuncture benefits acne by helping to clear excess heat and dampness from from the body. It can also be useful for restoring balance to the Lung system to promote clear and healthy skin.
  6. Acupressure Massage for Fertility Support Acupressure (commonly called by it's

Chinese name Tui na) is a form of Chinese medical massage. Many couples struggle with fertility and need a little extra help when it comes to getting pregnant. Factors that can negatively influence female fertility include conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, and irregular ovulation. If you have been diagnosed with any of the above conditions, tui na massage may help.
