In 2020, the University of Minnesota was found to have submitted a number of hypocrite commits to the Linux kernel development community in an attempt to prove that the kernel development model was insecure. Because of this, the University was banned from future kernel development. This talk will go through the whole timeline of the issue up to the present day.
The talk will then attempt to describe what the real kernel development trust model is as it became very obvious during this incident that many people outside of the community do not understand what it is.
