  2. #dfua GDG Women is an initiative within the Google Developer

Groups community to encourage greater diversity through mindful women-inclusive events. These events are organized by a GDG Women leader, target a technical women audience, include female speakers/facilitators, and include local women-in-tech partners. As these events are GDG events, content focus remains around Google tech. Women Techmakers is a Google initiative that aims to raise awareness of innovative women leaders in technology and inspire others to join the field. It does this through raising the visibility of women in tech, online community-building, and providing resources to support women develop their technical skillsets. While WTM supported the global event series in March, its focus is not on local events, but rather higher-level resources and global community.
  3. #dfua What is a GDG Women event? GDG Women events

Any event that meets this criteria can be considered as a “GDG Women” event, and tagged as such in the developers.google.com event calendar listing. Ultimately, what differentiates a GDG Women event from a standard GDG event is the mindful inclusion of women as both attendees and speakers/facilitators. Are GDG Women events women-only? GDG Women events are not intended to be women-only, but is instead an opportunity for GDG communities to be more mindful of female inclusion.
