  1. WHO ARE YOU? ▸ @_inductor_ ▸ An oriental geek who

likes containers and problem solving ▸ Speaks English with a “slight” Aussie accent ! ▸ 100% made in Japan :P ▸ Belongs to SRE team, ZOZO Technologies, Inc ▸ Organizer at Docker meetup Tokyo ▸ Admin at Infra study group(Πϯϑϥษڧձ)
  2. WHAT INFRA STUDY GROUP IS ▸ A fully online Japanese

community to study/learn about IT infrastructure on Discord(Reached at 4000 members!) ▸ From cabling & data center operation to Ansible/Docker, you can hold/attend to any type of “session” ▸ Any person can hold a session about anything. ▸ My most recent session was fundamental Ikinari steak (famous steakhouse chains in Japan) for Infrastructure engineer ▸ We want to break psychological barriers of speaking in front of people
  3. WE HAVE FULLY VOLUNTEERED INFRASTRUCTURE ENVIRONMENT ▸ Full on-premise ▸

Growi(wiki system) & WordPress as portal websites ▸ Not containerized ▸ Docker/Kubernetes testing environment ▸ Not for “production” ▸ GitLab w/ CI runner and container registry ▸ Not actually working as production
  4. PROBLEMS ▸ The system admin for this environment is only

one person who has access to the main system of the physical servers ▸ The core switch is SPoF and very unstable ▸ We want load balancing for access control ▸ Updating the environment may cause server failure ▸ Database backup/recovery is not fully automated
  5. TESTING SOME CONTAINER BASED PLATFORMS ▸ We decided to test

▸ Kubernetes ▸ OpenShift ▸ Docker Swarm ▸ On 3 separated networks hosted by 3 different people ▸ Using CDN for access distribution
