11. Is the key to our CHRISTIANITY DISCIPLESHIP DISCIPLESHIP
12. and while we are not perfect in our faith, we should always strive for perfection for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ.
13. This is what the Lord wants of us, He expects that if we choose to follow Him,
14. then we are accepting that we are to live a different life from those who don’t follow Him.
15. Jesus laid out the many standards and expectations of true discipleship.
16. FOLLOWING JESUS, meant a true commitment, the risks of death, and no turning back.

18. 38 “And whoever comes to me must follow in my steps and be willing to share my cross..” MATTHEW 10:38 TPT
19. 38 “and experience it as his own, or he cannot be considered to be my disciple.” MATTHEW 10:38 TPT
20. TAKING UP A CROSS stands for commitment to the extent of being willing to die for something
21. It also means to be willing to publicly IDENTIFY with JESUS
22. To experience certain opposition, and to be willing to face even suffering and death for Jesus sake.
23. 17 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” MARK 1:17 NLT
24. 18 “And they left their nets at once and followed him.” MARK 1:18 NLT
25. The Word of Jesus to His followers speaks clearly of a focused life,
26. That is a life FOCUSED on Him
27. For Believers today, it means understanding that
28. We belong to Jesus and that We live to serve His purpose
29. A guest can see the true FOCUS of a Church body just by visiting,
30. A friend or an acquaintance quickly recognizes the FOCUS of our life by our actions, attitude, and words.

32. 24 “Keep in mind that we who belong to Jesus, the Anointed One, have already experienced crucifixion.” GALATIANS 5:24 TPT
33. 24 “For everything connected with our self-life was put to death on the cross and crucified with Messiah.” GALATIANS 5:24 TPT
34. As a true follower of Christ, we need to turn from our sins
35. And willingly nail our sinful nature to the cross.
36. As Believers we still have the capacity to sin, but we have been set free from sin’s power over us and no longer have to give in to it.
37. We must daily commit our sinful tendencies to GOD’S CONTROL
38. DAILY CRUCIFY THEM, and moment by moment draw on the Spirit’s power to overcome them
39. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God

41. 5 “So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires.” COLOSSIANS 3:5 NLT
42. 5 “Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.” COLOSSIANS 3:5 NLT
43. We should consider ourselves dead and unresponsive to sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires.
44. Sexual sin and perversion will drain your energies and turn your heart away from God.
45. We must get rid ourselves of all evil practices and immorality,
46. And put on the NEW NATURE given by Christ
47. 27 “And if you do not carry your own cross and follow me, you cannot be my disciple.” LUKE 14:27 NLT
48. To deny ourselves is to say to God; “I am not worth anything, take me, shape me, fill me, use me, so that I may become a useful tool in your hand and valuable disciple.
49. Following Christ means TOTAL SUBMISSION TO HIM
50. Perhaps even to the point of death

52. 26 “If you want to be my disciple, follow me and you will go where I am going.” JOHN 12:26 TPT
53. 26 “And if you truly follow me as my disciple, the Father will shower his favor upon your life.” JOHN 12:26 TPT
54. Following Christ means, to follow His example of self-sacrifice
55. Jesus’ call here is to follow Him in the of rejection and suffering
56. Jesus set the example of hating His life in this world so that He could accomplish eternal purpose.
57. A true disciple will be rejected by those in the world who do not honor Christ.
58. 26 “When you follow me as my disciple, you must put aside your father, your mother, your wife..” LUKE 14:26 TPT
59. 26 “your sisters, your brothers— yes, you will even seem as though you hate your own life.” LUKE 14:26 TPT
60. 26 “This is the price you’ll pay to be considered one of my followers.” LUKE 14:26 TPT

67. A committed relationship with Jesus CHANGES all other relationships,
68. Not only with our family and possessions, but even with OURSELVES
69. RENUNCIATION (put aside) means giving up or putting second something
70. RENUNCIATION (put aside) that is good for the sake of something better
71. It involves a willingness to pay the price of discipleship even before we know what the price is.
72. The essence of discipleship is giving Christ FIRST PLACE
73. Those who feared family disapproval or persecution can not follow Christ.
74. A true follower of Christ has made a lifetime choice to follow Christ regardless of the COST.
75. Jesustells us that nobody becomes a FOLLOWER by accident,
76. It involves a PERSONAL CHOICE
77. It is a decision, this decision is meant for a lifetime, a true disciple follows Christ to the day he or she dies.
78. 21 “For to me, to live is Christ [He is my source of joy, my reason to live] and to die is gain [for I will be with Him in eternity].” PHILIPPIANS 1:21 AMP

80. True Disciples of Christ are those who have made the LIFETIME CHOICE
81. Of following Jesus regardless of the COST
82. And obeying Jesus gets better with time
83. Their attitude gets better with time, their values, significance
84. and mindset change reflecting more of the Kingdom and the King.
85. SINCE I STARTED FOR THE KINGDOM,
86. SINCE MY LIFE HE CONTROLS,
87. SINCE I GAVE MY HEART TO JESUS,
88. THE LONGER I SERVE HIM, THE SWEETER HE GROWS,
89. THE MORE THAT I LOVE HIM, MORE LOVE HE BESTOWS;
90. EACH DAY IS LIKE HEAVEN, MY HEART OVERFLOWS,
