• Show one picture at a time and ask students to answer orally. Keep the most difficult cards for a second round. • Competition game: show one picture at a time and ask students to write down the corresponding word in silence. When everyone has finished writing, say the word and show it, and ask students to put a check mark next to their answer if it is correct. At the end of the game, students will have to count their check marks and you can reward the ones who had the most. • Ask students to name 5-10 items on each card. • Ask students to create a sentence using the word on the card. • Ask students to name 5-10 related items that they don’t see on the card (for example, if it’s a picture of a stethoscope, name 6 other instruments). • Ask students to create a dialogue using 5 cards from different chapters. • Give all the flashcards of a chapter to each group of 4-5 students and ask one of them to ask the quiz questions on the card to the other members of his/her group, without showing the picture. Rotate chapters among the different groups. • “What am I?” game: Ask students to choose a card and describe it to other students until they find what it is. • Questions game: ask one student to choose a card, and other students to ask yes/no questions until they find what it is. • Charades: select a few cards that are possible to mime and ask one student at a time to choose a card and mime the word for others to guess. • Categories: lay cards on a table with the picture facing up and ask students to group cards into categories. • Letters: lay cards on the table and ask students to group them according to their first letter. Then ask them to find more medical words starting with the same letter.
