Building Career as Developer with Embracing Analytics and AI - AWS User Group Jakarta 2024

I gave this talk at AWS User Group Jakarta Meetup to share something I wish someone had told me earlier: that you don't need to be an ML expert to embrace Analytics and AI as a developer. I opened with a confession that I was quite struggling with Machine Learning back in college, and yes, I was afraid of being left behind. But that fear turned into a journey, and this talk is that journey distilled.

I walk the audience through the key AI trends shaping our industry today, the seven skills I believe every developer needs to build up, and how AI is already reshaping the way we write, test, and ship software. I also share the pitfalls I've seen teams fall into when using AI just because it's trendy, without grounding it in real customer problems. My closing message: start small, build something real, and share it with the community. There's still so much room for Indonesian developers to own this space, and this is our moment.

Improving code coverage. Bug Triaging Automatically identify severity on bug based on metrics to better prioritize Documentation Summarize code and write a documentation for easier handover Chat Assistance Faster find solutions to common problem using chat assistance Static Analysis Detect potential problems, e.g. bug or security in code before deploying.
