  1. A lot of people experience leaky windows or doors during

heavy rains, but in some cases, even newly built houses surprisingly had one too. It may not be needing a bucket and mops, but you can feel the freezing wind or more moisture than normal inside your rooms.
  2. Everything new gets old in time; factors such as the

weather and usage significantly affects your windows and doors state. Houses with a lot of residents will eventually wear and tear any object even windows and doors.
  3. Poorly fitting frames, low-quality materials and inexperienced contractors can cause

windows and doors to leak. Sometimes more trouble like holes or cracks will develop, that's why you should look for trusted professionals to install or repair your windows and doors.
  4. Some houses don't have overhang drains; fascia boards are not

angled outward to deflect water away from doors and windows.
  5. The use of caulking and expanding foam should be on

point. If the material used is lacking, moisture could seep through inside the window and into your room. If the door or window frames are too small, it is unacceptable to fill the large gap with expanding foam, and it is better to get a bigger structure that fits snug on openings provided.
  6. When you notice moisture seeping through your window, not from

the frame but sides of the glass, this may be due to a poor sealant on your glass. Air can often pass to and from a poorly sealed glass window. Cold air can move in the winter, increasing energy bills.
  7. Overpainting by just a little is practised by professionals because

paint acts as another sealant on windows and doors. A good coat of two to three layers of paint is typical.
  8. Other factors. Leaking walls or clogged drainage can cause leaks

on windows and doors too. Try to determine what causes the leaks and repair it as soon as possible if you are not familiar with house repairs, and there are a lot of available companies that provide services.
