    on record. ¨  Dozens of Texas cities recorded their longest stretch of consecutive 100- degree days. ¨  A multitude of Texas cities recorded a record number of 100-degree days. ¨  Second hottest summer on record for any state in any year.

    was 14.99 inches in 1917. ¨  Average Temperature 67.2 degrees. Second hottest year on record. Hottest year was 67.5 degrees set in 1921.
