  2. A FULFILLING FUTURE COMES FROM MORE THAN ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT. It

comes from a nurturing environment, rewarding relationships, and strong habits of mind and spirit. It comes from a collaborative attitude and a passion for lifelong learning that pushes you to explore every one of your options. At Notre Dame, our residential experience fosters exactly this kind of development and discernment, allowing you to become your own person as well as an active member of the community. Your four years here will be some of the most important years of your life. That’s why the majority of students live on campus. Despite the rigor that comes with a full class load, we also know how to have fun when the time allows. At Notre Dame, it couldn’t be easier to find some time and someplace to decompress, try something new, or meet an exciting new group of friends by joining a club, checking out a show, or suiting up in blue and gold and cheering on the Fighting Irish.
  3. 2 THOUGH YOU’LL NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST GAME DAY, LAUGHING

WITH FRIENDS IN THE DINING HALLS, OR TRAVELING THE WORLD WITH YOUR CLASSMATES, THE TIME YOU SPEND WITH YOUR RESIDENCE HALL FAMILY WILL BE ONE OF THE MOST MEMORABLE ASPECTS OF YOUR LIFE HERE. 4. 100% 80% Every hall participates in: Imagine living next to

some of the most interesting, intellectually curious individuals in the country. A highly diverse group of people, Notre Dame students are always up for anything, ready to help you study for your next exam, and eager to introduce you around. Have you ever raised thousands of dollars during a mud volleyball tournament or raced your friends in a homemade boat across a lake? That’s what it’s like here, since each of our 30 single-gender halls lead their own signature events and have unique traditions for everyone to enjoy. Every incoming first-year student receives a randomly assigned hall and roommate, and every hall brings together students from every year of study. Each hall is a microcosm designed to be a cross-section of the entire student body. You’ll have every chance to expand your perspective by immersing yourself in things wonderfully unfamiliar. 7. 7 There’s something profoundly special about being a Domer, a

member of the Fighting Irish, owning the blue and gold, and occasionally dressing in all green. It’s more than having a world-class 80,000-seat football stadium at the heart of campus (although, that’s pretty cool, too). It’s the tremendous sense of community in every building and class, every path and study area, on every field, court, course, track, and diamond. It’s knowing that you’re a part of our history, you’re furthering the legacy, and you’ve joined something bigger than yourself. We are all in this together and that’s what really makes us proud to be here. Paint your friends’ faces and head to the game with your hallmates. Join one of our intramural sports teams, deemed the best in the country by Sports Illustrated. Take the time to enjoy the family you build for yourself here. Even after you leave our campus, the knowledge, relationships, and connections you’ve made will be with you while you push forward as a force for good in the world. Check out all the team schedules at und.com.

of the best things about college is having every opportunity to express yourself—and, of course, watch others do the same. Whether that’s through musical performance, sacred music study, acting, filmmaking, improvisational comedy, dance, or fine arts, we’ve got thousands of ways to keep you inspired and plenty of space for you to stretch out and show the world what you’ve got. SNITE MUSEUM OF ART Featuring a growing permanent collection of more than 27,000 artworks from throughout history and across the world, the Snite Museum is open to all students as well as the public, and it is the perfect place to take a break, see priceless art, and keep your creativity flowing. AAHD GALLERY The pristine and professional Art, Art History, and Design gallery offers art students of all kinds the opportunity to display their work as part of group or solo exhibitions, and it often features work by faculty and artists from the community and elsewhere. We provide a space where students, community members, and visiting artists can come together to appreciate the arts in nearly every discipline. We’re proud to host regionally- recognized offerings like our Shakespeare at Notre Dame program, which stands as a center for Shakespearean scholarship, production, educational outreach, and research. And with state-of-the-art facilities (like Browning Cinema, Decio Mainstage Theatre, Leighton Concert Hall, and Philbin Studio Theater), the Center gives students the unique opportunity to watch performances, attend workshops run by visiting artists, rehearse and perform, and engage in coursework outside of the classroom. gallery displays new work by both our undergraduate and graduate students, from a range of classes including graphic design, photography, sculpture, and studio art. PHOTOGRAPHY GALLERY AT RILEY HALL Attracting professional artists from around the country, the Photography Gallery features at least eight exhibits per year, each of which are often accompanied by an opening party and speaking event that are meant to engage and enrich our students. CROSSROADS GALLERY AT NOTRE DAME CENTER FOR ARTS AND CULTURE Just off campus, this home for contemporary art is more than just a beautiful art gallery. Its mission is for students to bring art to the community and bring the community into the arts. With many shows per year, the gallery offers rich arts programming that includes after- school programs, workshops, and artist talks.
  12. 12 MAKE IT YOUR MISSION TO HELP OTHERS WITH THEIRS

Community service is not just a hallmark of Notre Dame. It’s our backbone. Through the University’s Center for Social Concerns (CSC), almost all our students are active in service and community-engaged learning for academic credit. Opportunities exist locally and throughout the world. This is our mission, to develop citizens of character, integrity, and social responsibility who ultimately set an example for all. 80% of Notre Dame students participate in some form of service learning or service Over 10% of each class spends at least a year as full-time volunteers after graduation Roughly

We never ask what we’ll get in return, and we’re always ready for more. This is why we provide our eager students plenty of opportunities to integrate their real-world service learning and social awareness into the academic experience, ultimately preparing everyone here to have broader perspectives and to create positive change in the world. Community Service ª ª From providing education and clean water services across the globe to building houses right within St. Joseph County, the Center for Social Concerns (CSC) facilitates service opportunities for more than 3,500 students every year. ª ª A home for more than 600 weekly participants of all ages, The Robinson Community Learning Center is an outlet that helps students, residents, faculty, and partners get involved with outreach programming that benefits young people throughout the region. ª ª Every single residence hall and almost every one of our 400+ clubs and organizations involve a strong community service element.
