  16. Performing tarawih prayers during Ramadan is highly encouraged. It is

the main form of worship in the nights of Ramadan and cannot be performed in other months. According to a hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah R.A. : The Holy Prophet SAW encourages (Muslims) to perform good deeds during the nights of Ramadan; but he did not force it upon them. The Holy Prophet SAW said: “Whoever worships during the nights of Ramadan in piety and sincerity for Allah SWT, Allah shall forgive his past sins.” Merits of Performing Tarawih
  17. Women are recommended to pray at home, not just for

tarawih only. But it is permissible for women to pray in the mosques unless if there is fitnah when they come out from their houses. There are some hadith on the merit of women praying at home. There are also some hadith on the merit of praying in the mosque. Women Performing Tarawih At Home
  18. Women Performing Tarawih At Home The Holy Prophet SAW said:

“The prayer of a woman in her house is better than at the lawn of her house and her prayer in her room is better than her prayer in her house”. (Hadith narrated in Sunan Abi Daud)
  19. Women Performing Tarawih At Home In another hadith narrated by

Imam Ahmad regarding Ummu Humaid Al-Sa’idi who came to the Prophet and said: “Ya Rasulullah, indeed I like to pray with you.” He SAW said: “I know you like to pray with me but your prayer in your bedroom is better than your prayer in your room(in general), and your prayer in your room is better than your prayer in your house, and your prayer in your house is better than your prayer in your community masjid, and your prayer in your community masjid is better than your prayer in my masjid.” After hearing this, Ummu Humaid asked to be made for her a prayer place in the most secluded corner of her bedroom. And she prayed therein until the day she returned to Allah SWT.
  20. Women Performing Tarawih At Home Both hadith show that the

best place for a woman to perform her prayer is at home. It is still permissible for women to pray in mosques as long as there is no fitnah or harm for her and her husband allows her to pray in the mosque. It is sunnah (encouraged) for a husband to allow his wife to pray in the mosque in one of the opinions of scholars of mazhab Syafi’i. There is a hadith narrated by Ibnu Umar, the Prophet SAW said: “Do not refrain the female servants of Allah from going to the mosques of Allah, but they have to go out without wearing perfume.”

  22. Haid During Ramadan Question #1 The issue of women and

haid, when should we be sure that our fast is invalid; when spotting is detected or when our menses begin?
  23. Haid During Ramadan Answer: If the spotting is normal, as

in, it is part of the beginning of the menses before the blood flows, a woman does not need to fast as she is considered in a state of menstruation already. She needs to qadha (pay back) the fasting during other days outside Ramadan.
  24. Haid During Ramadan Question #2 After my haid is over,

(usually it’s 7 days) and I start fasting, but on Day 9 or 10 I see a yellow discharge from my faraj. Should I stop fasting? How many days of qadha fasting should I do?
  25. Haid During Ramadan Answer: If the haid is clear on

day 7, and it is clean in between, but on day 9 and 10, a woman sees yellow discharge from faraj, the woman may continue to fast as the discharge can be perceived as wadi (a yellowish discharge which comes out from the vagina if a woman is tired/stress).
  26. Haid During Ramadan Question #3 After my haid is over,

I start fasting, but later in the day I see a light brown discharge. Should I stop my fast? I remember an Ustaz said can already start to fast because it’s not blood but just remnants?
  27. Haid During Ramadan Answer: As long as it is within

15 days of haid, the light brown discharge can be considered as haid. Remnants are considered as haid as the mark of clean from haid must be a chalky white. Some women bring parchments of cloth which have yellow stains on it to Rasulullah’s wife, Sayyidatina Aisyah binti Abu Bakr. She said, “Don’t rush to bathe unless you see al-qussah al-baidho’ (chalky white).”
  28. Istihadhah During Ramadan It is the blood which comes out

at a time when one is not having Haid or Nifas. It comes out from the bottom of our womb because of illness or a broken vessel in our womb. Blood which comes out LESSER or MORE than the MINIMUM or MAXIMUM period for haid/nifas is considered istihadhah.

complex endometrial hyperplaxia without atypia and her menses will last from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. She asked how to know if it is haid or istihadhah? Can she still fast?
  32. Istihadhah During Ramadan Answer: Blood Type Deduction Strong (has the

characteristics of haid) Haid Weak Istihadhah
  33. Last month, I had miscarriage. Do I need to have

kenduri arwah for my deceased baby in this month before Ramadan? It’s not obligatory at the first place. Kenduri Arwah/Majlis Tahlil is considered sunnah (encouraged) only. 37. I have yet to repay my fasts since years but

  38. Must I pay for last year’s puasa that I missed

before I can puasa for the upcoming Ramadan? If Ramadan 1440H has arrived and last year’s puasa (1439H) yet to qadha, the qadha has to be done after Ramadan 1440H and fidyah will be imposed for the days that you missed in 1439H. Yes

though it is not what I earned? If so, how about the years I didn’t pay? Take 2.5% every year Enlighten parents
  41. How do I perform the Terawih prayers ? Performing terawih

prayers during Ramadan is highly encouraged. It is the main form of worship in the nights of Ramadan and cannot be performed in other months. The time to perform the terawih prayers is after performing the obligatory evening (‘isya’) prayers. It is encouraged (afdal) to do the prayers in a mosque congregation. Nonetheless, terawih can also be done individually. The terawih prayers can be done in sets of 8 rakaat, 20 rakaat or 36 rakaat; each 2 rakaat with one salam. The way to perform the prayer is the same as any other sunat prayers (for example, sunat qabliyah (before) or ba’diyah (after) that is associated with the five obligatory prayers).
  42. “The Messenger of Allah ) ﷺ ( used to encourage

(his Companions) to pray (at night) during Ramadan without commanding them to observe it as an obligatory act, and say: He who observed the night prayer in Ramadan because of faith and seeking his reward (from Allah), all his previous sins would be forgiven.” (HR Muslim) How do I perform the Terawih prayers ?
  43. Doing righteous deeds to enter Allah’s Paradise Worship is based

on two great principles, namely love and veneration, the outcome of both of which is that: “They used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear.” (Al-Anbiya’; 21:90) From love comes hope, hopefully of Allah’s mercy and from veneration comes fear, fearing to disappoint Allah and going against Him.
  44. Doing righteous deeds to enter Allah’s Paradise Hence acts of

worship involve both instructions and prohibitions. Instructions are based on hope and seeking to reach the Almighty who issued these instructions, and prohibitions are based on veneration and fear of the Almighty. If you love Allah, you hope for that which is with Him and you long to reach Him, and you seek the path that leads to Him and you obey Him in the most perfect manner. If you venerate Him, you fear Him and every time you think of committing a sin, you call to mind the greatness of the Creator, and you refrain.
  45. Doing righteous deeds to enter Allah’s Paradise ع َ ن

He said: ‘Our murmuring revolves around the same things.” (HR Ibn Majah; Shahih)
  46. Does swimming invalidates fasting? Swimming, and it is related activities,

may cause water to enter the swimmer’s nose or ears. If water enters his/her nose or ears during the activity, the fast is invalidated. Thus, as a precautionary measure, one is advised not to swim in the day (during the fast) to prevent his/her fast from being invalidated.
  47. Zakat Obligatory Recommended Fitrah Wealth • Muslim. • Possess food

in excess of one’s own & dependants need for the day and night of EidulFitri. • To observe both periods of Ramadan and Syawal. • Muslim • Full ownership of the wealth • Nisab (86 grams of gold) • Haul (one Hijrah year) What are the main types of zakat?

person to take injections by day in Ramadan for it is not done through an open orifice, does not cure hunger pains nor does it result in any sort of satiation in the patient. Insulin injections for diabetics will not invalidate your fast. If it is possible to take intramuscular and intravenous injections by night, this is preferable.
  49. Does brushing teeth invalidates fasting? Using a brush while one

is fasting is not blameworthy, provided that no toothpaste or similar substances reach the stomach. If anything reaches the stomach, it breaks one’s fast according to the majority of Muslim jurists. If one is cautious and brushes his teeth and out of forgetfulness some traces reach his stomach, he is not sinful, as Allah forgives the mistakes of Muslims that are made unintentionally.
