5. ﻓ َ ﭑ ﺻ ۡ ﺑ ِ ر ۡ ﻛ َ ﻣ َ ﺎ ﺻ َ ﺑ َ ر َ أ ُ و ْ ﻟ ُ و ا ْ ٱ ﻟۡ ﻌ َ ز ۡ م ِ ﻣ ِ ن َ ٱ ﻟ ر ﱡ ﺳ ُ ل ِ و َ ﻻ َ ﺗ َ ﺳ ۡ ﺗ َ ﻌ ۡ ﺟ ِ ل ﻟ ﱠ ﮭ ُ مۡ ۚ “Therefore be patient as did the Messengers of strong will or determination (ulul ‘azmi minal rasuli) and be in no haste about them (disbelievers).”
6. The Arch- Prophets They are referred to as: • Nuh (Noah) (as), • Ibrahim (Abraham) (as), • Musa (Moses) (as), • 'Isa (Jesus) (as), • Muhammad (s.a.w)
7. The 5 Messengers are specified in Qur’an 42:13 when Allah says, “He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad SAW) , and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and 'Isa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion).”
8. Greatest test faced by the Prophets
10. 1- Test of Faith أ ◌ َ ﺣ َ ﺳ ِ ب َ ٱ ﻟ ﻧ ﱠ ﺎ س ُ أ َ ن ﯾ ُ ﺗۡ ر َ ﻛ ُ و ٓ ا ْ أ َ ن ﯾ َ ﻘ ُ و ﻟ ُ و ٓ ا ْ ء َ ا ﻣ َ ﻧ ﱠ ﺎ و َ ھ ُ مۡ ﻻ َ ﯾ ُ ﻔۡ ﺗ َ ﻧ ُ و ن َ . و َ ﻟ َ ﻘ َ د ۡ ﻓ َ ﺗ َ ﻧ ﱠ ﺎ ٱ ﻟ ﱠ ذ ِ ﯾ ن َ ﻣ ِ ن ﻗ َ ﺑۡ ﻠِ ﮭ ِ مۡ ۖ ﻓ َ ﻠ َ ﯾ َ ﻌ ۡ ﻠ َ ﻣ َ ن ﱠ ٱ J ﱠ ُ ٱ ﻟ ﱠ ذ ِ ﯾ ن َ ﺻ َ د َ ﻗ ُ و ا ْ و َ ﻟ َ ﯾ َ ﻌ ۡ ﻠ َ ﻣ َ ن ﱠ ٱ ﻟۡ ﻛ َ ـٰ ذ ِ ﺑ ِ ﯾ ن َ Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe,” without being put to the test? We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. (Quran 29:2-3) Why Allah Tests Us With Hardship

Maintaining Our Faith أ َ ﻣ ﱠ ن ﯾ ُ ﺟ ِ ﯾ ب ُ ٱ ﻟۡ ﻣ ُ ﺿ ۡ ط َ ر ﱠ إ ِ ذ َا د َ ﻋ َ ﺎ ه ُ و َ ﯾ َ ﻛ ۡ ﺷ ِ ف ُ ٱ ﻟ ﺳ ﱡ و ٓ ء َ و َ ﯾ َ ﺟ ۡ ﻌ َ ﻠ ُ C ُ مۡ ﺧ ُ ﻠ َ ﻔ َ ﺎ ٓ ء َ ٱ ﻷۡ َ ر ۡ ض ِ ۗ أ َ ء ِ ﻟ َ ـٰ ﮫ ٌ۟ ﻣ ﱠ ﻊ َ ٱ P ﱠ ِ ۚ ﻗ َ ﻠِ ﯾ ﻼ ً۟ ﻣ ﱠ ﺎ ﺗ َ ذ َ V ﱠ ر ُ و ن َ Who is the One who rescues those who become desperate and call upon Him, relieves adversity, and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there another god besides Allah? Rarely do you take heed. (27:62)

Why Allah Tests Us With Hardship 2- Cleansing our Soul و َ ﻣ َ ﺎ ٓ أ َ ﺻ َ ـٰ ﺑ َ + ُ م ﻣ ِّ ن ﻣ ﱡ ﺻ ِ ﯾ ﺑ َ ﺔ ٍ۟ ﻓ َ ﺑ ِ ﻣ َ ﺎ ﻛ َ ﺳ َ ﺑ َ ت ۡ أ َ ﯾۡ د ِ ﯾ ﻛ ُ مۡ و َ ﯾ َ ﻌ ۡ ﻔ ُ و ا ْ ﻋ َ ن ﻛ َ ﺛ ِ ﯾ ر ٍ۟ Anything bad that happens to you is a consequence of your own deeds, and He overlooks many (of your sins) (42:30)

Why Allah Tests Us With Hardship 3- Gratefulness و َ إ ِ ذ َا ٓ أ َ ﻧۡ ﻌ َ ﻣۡ ﻧ َ ﺎ ﻋ َ ﻠ َ ﻰ ٱ ﻹۡ ِ ﻧ ﺳ َ ـٰ ن ِ أ َ ﻋ ۡ ر َ ض َ و َ ﻧ َ ـ : ﺎ ﺑ ِ ﺟ َ ﺎ ﻧ ِ ﺑ ِ ﮫ ِ ۦ و َ إ ِ ذ َا ﻣ َ ﺳ ﱠ ﮫ ُ ٱ ﻟ ﺷ ﱠ ر ﱡ ﻓ َ ذ ُ و د ُ ﻋ َ ﺎ ٓ ء ٍ ﻋ َ ر ِ ﯾ ض ٍ۟ When we bless the human being, he turns away, and drifts farther and farther away, and when he suffers any affliction, (he comes) full of prolonged prayer! (41:51)
14. Why Allah Tests Us With Hardship 4- Remembering Allah ھ ُ و َ ٱ ﻟ ﱠ ذ ِ ى ﯾ ُ ﺳ َ ﯾ ِّ ر ُ ﻛ ُ مۡ ﻓ ِ ﻰ ٱ ﻟۡ ﺑ َ ر ِّ و َ ٱ ﻟۡ ﺑ َ ﺣ ۡ ر ِ ۖ ﺣ َ ﺗ ﱠ ﻰ ٰٓ إ ِ ذ َا ﻛ ُ ﻧ ﺗ ُ مۡ ﻓ ِ ﻰ ٱ ﻟۡ ﻔ ُﻠۡ ك ِ و َ ﺟ َ ر َ ﯾۡ ن َ ﺑ ِ ﮩ ِ م ﺑ ِ ر ِ ﯾ ﺢ ٍ ۟ ط َ ﯾ ِّ ﺑ َ ﺔ ٍ۟ و َ ﻓ َ ر ِ ﺣ ُ و ا ْ ﺑ ِ ﮩ َ ﺎ ﺟ َ ﺎ ٓ ء َ ﺗۡ ﮩ َ ﺎ ر ِ ﯾ ﺢ ٌ ﻋ َ ﺎ ﺻ ِ ف ٌ۟ و َ ﺟ َ ﺎ ٓ ء َ ھ ُ م ُ ٱ ﻟۡ ﻣ َ وۡ ج ُ ﻣ ِ ن ﻛ ُ ل ِّ ﻣ َ ﻛ َ ﺎ ن ٍ۟ و َ ظ َ ﻧ ﱡ و ٓ ا ْ أ َ ﻧ ﱠ ﮩ ُ مۡ أ ُ ﺣ ِ ﯾ ط َ ﺑ ِ ﮭ ِ مۡ ۙ د َ ﻋ َ و ُ ا ْ ٱ Y ﱠ َ ﻣ ُ ﺧ ۡ ﻠِ ﺻ ِ ﯾ ن َ ﻟ َ ﮫ ُ ٱ ﻟ د ِّ ﯾ ن َ ﻟ َ ﯨ ] ن ۡ أ َ ﻧ ﺟ َ ﯾۡ ﺗ َ ﻧ َ ﺎ ﻣ ِ ن ۡ ھ َ ـٰ ذ ِ ه ِ ۦ ﻟ َ ﻧ َ ﻛ ُ و ﻧ َ ن ﱠ ﻣ ِ ن َ ٱ ﻟ ﺷ ﱠ ـٰ ﻛ ِ ر ِ ﯾ ن َ He is the One who moves you across the land and sea. You get onto the ships, and they sail smoothly in a nice breeze. Then, while rejoicing therein, then when violent wind blows, and the waves surround them from every side. This is when they cry unto Allah, sincerely devoting their prayers to Him alone: “If You only save us this time, we shall truly show our gratitude. (10:22)
15. Why Allah Tests Us With Hardship 5- Allah’s Power and Authority ﻓ َ ﺈ ِ ذ َا ﻣ َ س ﱠ ٱ ﻹۡ ِ ﻧ ﺳ َ ـٰ ن َ ﺿ ُ ر ﱞ۟ د َ ﻋ َ ﺎ ﻧ َ ﺎ ﺛ ُ م ﱠ إ ِ ذ َا ﺧ َ و ﱠ ﻟۡ ﻧ َ ـٰ ﮫ ُ ﻧ ِ ﻌ ۡ ﻣ َ ﺔ ً۟ ﻣ ِّ ﻧ ﱠ ﺎ ﻗ َ ﺎ ل َ إ ِ ﻧ ﱠ ﻣ َ ﺎ ٓ أ ُ و ﺗ ِ ﯾ ﺗ ُ ﮫ ُ ۥ ﻋ َ ﻠ َ ﻰ ٰ ﻋ ِ ﻠۡ مِۭ ۚ ﺑ َ ل ۡ ھ ِ ﻰ َ ﻓ ِ ﺗۡ ﻧ َ ﺔ ٌ۟ و َ ﻟ َ ـٰ ﻛ ِ ن ﱠ أ َ ﻛ ۡ ﺛ َ ر َ ھ ُ مۡ ﻻ َ ﯾ َ ﻌ ۡ ﻠ َ ﻣ ُ و ن َ If the human is touched by adversity, he implores us, but as soon as we bestow a blessing upon him, he says, “I attained this because of my cleverness!” Indeed, this is only a test, but most of them do not know. (39:49)
16. Ways to maintain patience & perseverance • Knowing that everything is from Allah • Think about the rewards of patience • Track your self-talk and replace your thoughts • Du’a & prayers
